About meI am an Ecological Educator: a learner, teacher, artist, and explorer of both spirit and place in the natural systems of the world.
I've worked through a variety of paths to provide learning opportunities to thousands of people of all ages. My classrooms exist on the rim two-thousand feet above a canyon, the sunlit ocean surface of a bustling coral reef, or simply the lawn of a small school yard. My methods may include a surprise appearance by a chef who has a hard time "cooking-up" soil or challenging students to invent a way to successfully capture water from the air, with the reward of pouring their collection on my head, My desire to explore has led me to many places, including extensive trips across North America, bike touring Northern Europe and becoming part of a family in Brazil. I bring all elements of my exploration into my approach to teaching and continue to find new ways to excite the mind. I have a Master of Science in Environmental Studies from Antioch University New England, where I honed into problem-based learning and ecology in my teaching career. I have extensive experience in media including visual art, video, photography and instrumental music. This site is a gallery of some of these works. All photos on this site are ones that I have taken throughout my journeys. Please feel free to peruse both my art and teaching portfolio on this site, and contact me if you find anything of interest to you. Enjoy. Chris |
